Thanks to the Capital Regional District,
producer of the
Natural Areas Atlas

of B.C., for the use of
this orthophotograph,
a composite taken in
2005 June.

It shows clearly the
extent of human impact
on the island:
1. roads,
2. forest clearcuts,
2. other stripped spots
that aren't natural rocky
outcrops or farmland,
4. the powerline swath,
5. suburban infill,
and more.
